Time has gotten away from me. I always mean well and intend to get back to blogging but for some reason I never quite seem to make it. School started back up on Jan 2nd and it’s going great. Clinical starts in a few weeks. I have had 5 test so far and I have an average of a high B (only 1.5 points away from an A). If I can make an A on my nutrition project tomorrow ( I expect to) my average will come up to an A. So far the material has not been all that hard, it’s just a lot and the studying is time consuming. I’m taking fundamentals of nursing with skills lab (all the basic nursing stuff), pharmacology, communications, and dosage calculations, plus the clinical that I mentioned are about to start soon. All the grades from each subject is averaged as one grade. Nursing 101.

Tim and I are doing wonderful. We don’t get to spend as much time together as we would like, between his 2 jobs and my school (study time) and job means that our schedules do not always mix.

I quit my job at Dillard’s by the way, I finally decided that I had taken enough of their crap, although I have to amit that after 5 years there I sure do miss it, or atleast parts of it. I’m working with a friend from school now at a answering service. It’s mainly for Drs and hospitals, we get some utilities and maintenance calls too. Its not the best job that I have ever had and I miss doing makeup but I can study while I’m there so that helps a lot. I will be able to start working in the hospital towards the end of April and I can’t wait. The pay and the benefits will be good there and it will give me a lot of valuable experience.

I have to get to bed but I hope that everyone is doing well. Have a great night.

Today was the last day of semester one, I survived!! Three more to go! We had or last test and a group project/presentation today and I think that they both went very well. I should have my final grade’s sometime later this week. I have a long fall/winter break now, no more school until January. Maybe now I can get back to bloging everyday the way that I used too. I do plan on getting a jump start for next semester so I have a lot of reading and studying to do, at least I can do it whenever I feel like it though. I plan to get Nora Roberts new book too, finally I’ll have time to read something not related to school.

I haven’t had a lot of time to blog this past week. My nursing program is taking up a lot of my time. I managed to get a B on my first exam and I will find out tomorrow what I got on my second exam which I took on Monday. I think that I got an A, you never know though, ya know how sometimes you think that you do really well on something only to find out that you really did horrible on it. Hopefully that wont be the case!

I haven’t been home from work for long and I do not plan on doing any studying tonight since I have already put 6 hours into it today. I’m actually going to have time to surf the net and watch some TV.

I plan to see Tim after school tomorrow evening so it looks like Thursday will be a study day for next weeks exam. I have to work Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon. So much for the holiday weekend. I really shouldn’t complain, I do need the money and Monday will be time and a half. The only thing that I have planned for the weekend is going to the beach with Tim on Sunday night to see 3 Doors Down. Other than that it looks like it will be all work and no play.

What are everyone’s plans for the holiday weekend?

It looks like we are going to finally get some much needed rain. Tropical storm Ernesto is forecast to blow through here sometime in the next couple of days. Right now it doesn’t look like the storm will have a lot of punch to it but you never know with these things. Hopefully it wont strengthen too much.

I took my first exam for my nursing program today, it’s done and over with and it wasn’t nearly as hard as I expected it would be. I wont have my grade until Wednesday but I feel like I did pretty well on it. Now it’s time to start all over with this weeks homework and the studying for next weeks exam. We only have 2 chapters to learn this week instead of 5 like last week. Bones, joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. Gotta love it!

It’s been a busy week! I just now finally updated the previous post from our trip to NC. We got back late Saturday evening, stopped by Alltel and got me a new cell phone and then went outside star gazing for the rest of the night. Sunday morning I had to go to a meeting at work. Tim and I went to the beach afterwards. The water felt good and the waves were nice, there were some Jelly fish around, I did my best to stay away from them! That was the first time I’ve been in the Ocean in about two years, which is sad because I live less than 10 minutes from the beach.

Monday was my first day of nursing school and I have been doing homework ever since. I have put a good 10 hours in already today and it’s going to take me another 3 or 4 hours to finish it all up before class tomorrow afternoon. We have our 1st exam on Monday (on 5 chapters) and I haven’t even started studying for it yet, the homework has taken up all of my time. I wonder how much more we will be assigned tomorrow.
I took a couple of hours off from studying tonight. Tim took myself, my mom and his mom out to dinner(Chinese Buffet), then I went back to his house and we made a peach cobbler together.

I’m going to visit everyone in a few minutes. Sorry to be so neglectful but like I said, it has been a busy week.

I went to a reception for my nursing program tonight. I got to meet some of the instructors and I got to talk with two girls that are going to be in the program with me. They both seemed nice. I really hit it off with one of them. We exchanged phone numbers and e-mail addresses so we can bounce things off one another if we have questions or concerns. I found out that this upcoming semester I will be attending class in the evening. I wasn’t expecting that, but I guess its fine. They told us that we could wait until October to purchase our uniforms, that works out good for me because I didn’t want to buy them now and then have them be three sizes too big by the time that I start clinical’s, which probably wont be until December or January. They only class that we will have this first semester (unless they change their minds AGAIN) is A&P.
