(My friend Sarah shared this recipe with me several years ago).
Ingredients:
6 English Muffins
1 5oz Jar of *Old English Cheese Spread (see picture below)
1 Stick of butter
1 T Mayo
6-8 oz Imitation crab meat (you can substitute real crab if you would like)
Method:
~Pull English muffins apart so that each one makes two
~Lightly toast English muffins then cut in half again (you should get 4 pieces out of each full muffin) and set aside on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
~In a medium sauce pan melt butter and cheese, then remove from heat.
~Stir in mayo and crab meat.
~Spoon mixture over English muffins
~Place cookie sheet in oven on broil until the cheese becomes bubbly (about 3 to 5 minutes tops)
Best served while still warm, great for snacks or partys.
*Old English Cheese Spread (sharp cheddar)
I make something like this with tuna. Only difference is I put the spread and cheese on and then broil it enough to brown the top.
Now why didn’t I think of this one for five ingredient recipe?
With Tuna huh? I bet thats good.
Yum. That sounds really, really good. I don’t know if I can get the jarred cheese around here, though – does it have a brand name?
It’s by Kraft, but I think that any sharp cheddar cheese will do.
Oh, thanks for posting the picture! We get Cheez-Whiz in Canada, but I don’t think that it would be the same thing!
Oh, this looks yummy! Thanks so much for participating in my Five Ingredient Friday recipe exchange!
That sounds really yummy! I’m so going to have to try this!
It sounds great but devilish. I will try. Thanks for posting it.
I love good recipes for party food. This one sounds really good (and easy) and anything at all with crabmeat in it goes onto my favorites list!
